Dental Clinic at Open Door SDA Church

Life and Health Network is an Adventist ASI ministry based in the NCC. They coordinate staff and supplies for churches all over the country to run dental clinics, diabetes programs, optometry clinics, and much more. On Sunday, June 25th, they organized a dental clinic that was free to the community at Open Door SDA church in Orangevale. We bathed this event with prayer for two weeks. Then with only 6 days of targeted advertising via Facebook, and knocking on doors in the nearby neighborhood the morning of, God sent all the patients needed for the dental clinic.
Church member David Koh said, “Praise God! I’m just glad God answered my prayers by sending more patients. My heart is full.” 76 patients were given teeth cleanings, fillings, and tooth extractions by 10 dentists. These dentists are church members from Open Door SDA church, as well as other local churches, who gave up their free Sunday, to come and be the hands of Jesus. In addition, our friends from the “Beautiful Minds” organization provided chair massages and mental health counseling services to the awaiting patients. It was truly a day of physical, emotional, and spiritual service.
Danny Kwon, Director of Life and Health, said, “we helped many people today and made some wonderful contacts for our upcoming Bible study series, Sidewalk Evangelism. One short testimony: Malak, an Egyptian immigrant that literally arrived to America 20 days ago, came on the recommendation of Maged Gadelrab, our church member. Malak is a Christian but not a Seventh-Day Adventist. After we helped him, he wanted to know more about our church and why we worship on Saturday. After speaking with him and his wife, Malak stated he wants to come to our church and plans to start attending. Such is the power of kindness and Christ's method in action.”
