One of the main focuses the past few years at Chicago Unity has been the young families. One of the ways that we have reached towards young families was through Children’s Cooking Class. We had four cooking classes over the span of 3 months geared towards young children and their families. They were led by different leaders from Chicago Unity, and aimed to help young children and families make healthy and delicious foods that are simple to make.
Members of Chicago Unity also love the great outdoors. There have been many excursions into the wilderness, including a recent trip to the white water rapids of Wisconsin. Camping trips provide more opportunities for the various families to spend time with one another and with their families while enjoying God’s creation.
In addition to ministry within the church, the Chicago area churches have made more of an effort to fellowship with one another. Chicago Unity hosted a Valentine’s Day banquet for the Korean Ministries of Chicago. Lombard SDA Fellowship hosted the MAC conference for the young families of Chicago in May.
Chicago Unity strives to continue to minister within the church, to the families and members that make up Chicago Unity, but also to those outside of the church. By networking with the neighboring Chicago churches, we want to make a difference and serve the city of Chicago, and continue to do God’s work in our communities.
