ECKCM 2015 - Day 7

It was a beautiful Sabbath day. Sabbath school for Adults was led by Eli Kim and he explained how he has family Bible Study. Everyone broke into groups and took one verse from the Bible and started by asking the 5 W questions that could be answered by the verse: Who, what, when, where, why? Then they asked questions that were based on the knowledge of the Bible. Then finally, they asked questions that were supported by other verses from the Bible. At the end of the session, everyone left with a deeper understanding of the verse and how to make Bible study more interesting for their family.

All the English Ministry came together for Divine Worship. Pastor Chester Clark III gave the main message, about what’s important in life. Riches are relative. The Chief of a small village in Africa is considered the richest man, while he has nothing compared to Warren Buffet. This is a lesson we need to understand, that we need to seek things that are not temporary, nor what may just turn out to be poop. Dung Beetles seek animal dung to live in and eat. Beetles fight over the dung balls, looking for a bigger and bigger ball. We need to learn what to spend our time on, what is truly important. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen aretemporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

We need to see the riches of God, how He lavishes it on us. That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:7
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Ephesians 3:16-20

During Sabbath afternoon, Pastor Justin Yang led the first ever summit on the future of the Korean American churches. On the merit of Korean churches and needs of the KA English Ministry congregation. Presentations by Pastors Allan Martin, Tara VinCross and JiWan Moon showed how their ministries were growing and how we could learn from their experience.

All the English Ministry came together, to close out the Sabbath in worship. The Closing Ceremony was bittersweet, because they recognized all the speakers and group leaders, but it was also the last day of campmeeting. Kimbop, ramen and mandoo were consumed at the Afterglow Café, while the annual volleyball tournament pitted one church against another.
