ECKCM: Day 2

Monday morning started with a lovely devotion by Molly Gray, wife of Pastor Keith Gray. Prayer is an integral part of the recreating process. She talked of assigning a day for each group of people she prays for: her immediate family, her blood relatives, her students, her friends¬, herself. She ended the morning session with a lovely solo…Be Still and Know that He is God.

The English Ministry came together for the opening ceremony, from Cradle Roll to English Adults. Each group was introduced and the invited speakers gave a 30 second intro about what their subject would cover. The English Adult group is led by Eunice Kim and Charles Ahn. The morning session was a message given by Pastor Richie Halversen and it wasn’t just an imploration to recreate, but to be a new creation. He compared our hard-heartedness to the black formless void in Genesis before creation. How the Spirit of God moved over the waters and started the creation process. We must allow the Spirit to work and surrender ourselves to Him.

The afternoon workshop was led by David Kim, on how to witness to the Wealthy, Worldly and Well-educated. Often, these are overlooked because they are considered “hard to reach.” We often make snap judgment about who would be interested in Christianity and sometimes lack confidence that they would listen to our testimonies.

Ellen G. White urges that they are to be reached because of the work they are capable of, as well as the resources they would bring to do God’s work. David Kim created 3 scenarios whereby we practiced how to talk to anyone who would question our faith in the workplace and neighborhoods. More information about his ministry is available on nicodemussociety.org.

Afterglow Café was open to the public and everyone took advantage of the delicious Korean food items, provided by the Northern NY Ladies.
