ECKCM: Day 3
The High School group is coordinated by Julie Kim, Misso Kim and Pastor Tony Sandoval. The High Schoolers are broken up into small groups, which will be their family for the rest of the week.
The morning message is given by Pastor Henry Johnson. With the theme message of recreate, he talked about how Satan was a Christian (Isaiah 14:14). But Satan wanted to emulate God’s omnipotence rather than his character. His thought-provoking message was discussed with a breakout session among the small groups, and then the boys and girls were divided for activities. The boys did a variety of team-building exercises, and the girls came up with several scenarios where they were to emulate Christ-like behavior.
Their outreach activity is a week-long program, where they are fundraising for two different causes. A singing gram is raising money for a water pump in a small Kenyan village. A 5K run/walk is planned for Friday, to raise tuition for a non-adventist Burmese refugee child to attend an Adventist academy.
The evening worship was given by Pastor Keith Gray, covering the parable of the Prodigal Son. With his sanctified imagination, he brought the story of the Big Brother alive for the High Schoolers. They broke out into small groups to discuss the message, before ending the day’s meetings.
David Kim performed for the English Adults and gave his testimony about how God cured him of his Congenital Christianity.
