English Ministry Summit - August 8, 2015

For the 1st time in the history of Korean-American Adventist English Ministry – the Single Young Adult and the Married Adult (with or without children) department for the 2015 East Coast Korean Camp Meeting will be hosting a special English Ministry Summit for all its participants on August 8, 2015 from approximately 2:00 – 5:00 pm.
In this unprecedented summit, we’re expecting and praying for EM young adult representation from many of our churches in the (Mid)East Coast Korean Churches with English Ministry – as we’ll participate in a Summit (Vision Forum) that could potentially change the direction of English Ministry in the Korean-American Church Context.
Listed below are some important details for this gathering:
1. All EM Young Adult participants will be divided into small groups for a round table discussion with other young adults leaders in the English Ministry.
2. In these groups, we’ll be discussing some of the following questions.
Why are Korean-American Young Adults leaving the Korean Churches during or after college?
Why are some staying or eventually coming back to the Korean Church context?
Are Korean churches still necessary for the fully assimilated English-Speaking Korean-American Adventist Young Adults? (If so, why?)
What can English Ministries in Korean Churches offer to our English-speaking Young Adults?
What can the English-speaking young adults offer for the future of English Ministries in Korean Churches?
Do Adventist Korean Young Adults feel the need for a governing body (for EM) under the Korean Church Association (KCA, formerly known as KASDA)?
What is the dream and the vision of Korean-American Adventist Young Adults for English Ministries in Korean Churches?
How can EM Lay leaders in Korean Churches collaborate for effectively for the future of English Ministries in the Korean Church Context?
3. All groups will have the opportunity (via the ‘group scribe’ and the ‘group leader’) to present the summary of their discussion.
4. All presented content will be edited and crafted into an official documentation by an editorial team.
5. This official documentation will be given to the KCA Executive Committee which will be held in Portland, Oregon from Sept. 6-12, 2015.
