Loma Linda Helping Hands
by Jeffrey Cho
According to the most recent United States Census, San Bernardino is the second-poorest large city in the United States. In the face of this grim statistic, there is hope as long as the body of Christ remains faithful to its calling of ministering to the suffering and the sorrowful.
On January 19, 2013, the Campus Ministry of Loma Linda Korean SDA Church took part in the Lord's work by volunteering at the Helping Hands Pantry warehouse. Helping Hands Pantry is a nonprofit organization that seeks to relieve hunger and suffering in the San Bernardino County by providing food and other items to people in need. On this particular Sabbath, the members of Campus Ministry bagged hundreds of oranges to distribute to their brothers and sisters in San Bernardino and mopped the warehouse floor. It was an enjoyable experience serving the Lord while enjoying each others fellowship. The evening concluded with sundown worship at the warehouse.
