Loma Linda Fall Festival 2013
Fun, food, and fellowship were in full force once again in this year’s fall festival at Loma Linda Korean SDA Church.  A variety of extravagant decorations was featured in several vehicles that participated in the very popular ‘trunk or treat’.  The kids who were collecting their decorated bag of treats also voted for their favorite trunk-or-treat car.  The always creative Jane Kim, was the winner with her elaborate ‘Sugar-Rush’-themed display from the movie, ‘Wreck-It Ralph’.

The children enjoyed playing all of the challenging games and collected as many tickets as they could in exchange for a treasured prize.  The younger ones were letting their energy loose in the bounce houses while some enjoyed a hay ride. A festival would not be complete without some delectable food favorites such as pizza, burritos, mandoo, and kimbap.
The evening was highlighted by our 2nd annual ‘Loma Linda’s Got Talent’ show.  Our winner this year was Shelley Rauser, who sang a captivating solo.
This special event would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of all the church members who volunteered their time and energy preparing (in the heat!) and making it such a success.   We also appreciated the pastoral staff and their dedicated support. Our purpose was to provide a fun-filled and safe environment for our children to enjoy and celebrate this beautiful time of the year. A big thank you to all of the families and, of course, the kids who came out to support this wonderful event!

Pathfinders Camporee November 1-3, 2013
Loma Linda Korean church believes in training young people to be pathfinders for Jesus. Pathfinders are a type of Christian “boys and girls club” where students learn life skills, discipline, respect, and most of all--love for Jesus. Every year we have an annual conference camporee where all of the Pathfinder clubs of Southeastern California conference gets together to have a big camp meeting type environment at Rancho Jurupa Park. At the camporee, students have variety of honors and worship that help them enhance their knowledge of the Bible and develop skills for everyday life. Every year the camporee is one of the biggest highlights of the pathfinder experience. Students have fun even before coming to camporee by making their own menus for each meal. Every meal is prepared and cleaned up by different groups, which gives them an opportunity to serve and learn. Friday is filled with different honors, and in the evening there is a joint vespers led by a guest speaker. Sabbath morning, there is also joint main worship and an honor in the afternoon. Sabbath evening is dedicated to exciting group activities and finished with the student’s favorite treat: hot coco and cup ramyun. Each camporee takes great planning and support from parents. We are so grateful to have a wonderful director, Esther Lee, who invests countless amount of hours and dedication for an exciting pathfinder experience and ultimately providing growing relationship with Jesus for students of grades 5 through 12.

Baptisms
This November 9, we were privileged to have 7 precious souls baptized in Christ.
