Founded in 1977, our church started as a small group of faithful believers meeting together in a rented facility, in the heart of Koreatown in Los Angeles. A few years later the church moved to its current location (a few miles away) which is an early twentieth century mansion that for some time had served as a convent for Catholic nuns.
Over the decades, under the leadership of several pastors, the Olympic Korean SDA has grown in many ways – not just physically but also spiritually as a place of prayer, worship and fellowship.
The current membership consists of about 150 members in the Korean congregation and 20 members in the English Ministry. Unlike many other churches, our English Ministry is comprised of mostly 30 something adults, who are mostly young professionals. Our goal as a group is to have an authentic and sincere relationship with God. This has led us to pursue many paths in our ministry, but all of us have recognized the greatest need and have belief in the power of prayer.
We ask for prayers of intercession from you, the greater community of English Speaking Koreans in North America, and we hope to faithfully tend to and grow our community of faith here in Los Angeles, to further represent Christ character to others.
