Hello from beautiful Portland, Oregon.
This month we are having our 4th annual School Supply Drive. By God's providence our church is in one of the poorest underserved school districts in the Portland metropolitan area. This has given us an opportunity to help with basic school supply needs of our surrounding community. We have worked closely with the different schools and principles to understand the needs of the students.
Outside of the yearly drive, we have had other projects and ongoing projects to help our locals schools. Last year we were able to team up with Portland Adventist Community Services to bring basic school supplies to 130 families. We also had a mobile dental clinic van to treat for free families or members who needed more emergent dental needs. More importantly, this was an opportunity for us to openly help under the banner of Christ and to offer a Christian connection, support and prayer.
As we continue our ministry, we strive to keep in mind that we can supply shelter, clothing, food and water but without the water of life, all is but a temporary sustenance. John 4:13-14 "Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life."" Please keep our church and community in our prayers.
