Riverside Korean SDA Church is more than a group of people that meet once a week and worship God together.  We are a church that has become a family.  Like many churches, the English Ministry has gone through changes throughout the years, but praise God that He has faithfully sustained us and provided for us, and has reminded us continually of the purpose we have in Him.  The Lord has blessed us abundantly with Pastor Joshua Bae, his wife Jasmine, and their children JJ and Hyuna.  Pastor Joshua and his family have shown us God’s grace and love through their genuine care for people, their servant-like hearts, and their spiritual wisdom and example.  We are truly blessed to have the Bae family to lead us to the truth and to guide us on the path of salvation.

We have also been greatly blessed by receiving a new youth leader named Al, who ministers to those from junior high school to college.  We have a close-knit group of young people who love to eat and be active.  A couple of things they enjoy are gym night and volunteering at Helping Hands Pantry.  Helping Hands Pantry is an organization that feeds thousands of people in the San Bernardino area, and is determined to feed individuals so they do not go to bed hungry.

God provides our church with spiritual nourishment through several different weekly small groups where we can fellowship, study God’s Word, and uplift one another in prayer.  There are Friday night Bible Studies, small groups for newlyweds and young mothers, and Wednesday night prayer meetings for church revival.  It is at these small groups that members are able to connect better than at a church, and to share on a deeper level.  A church is a place where sick people come to be healed, and there’s nothing more beautiful than a church member ministering and sharing hope to a fellow brother or sister who is broken and is in need of a friend and spiritual encouragement.

By developing a trusting and nurturing family at church, members are able to go out as Christ’s unified body and share the goodness of God to the community.  We like to visit Emeritus, a senior living home in Loma Linda, so we can play music and sing for them, give a short message from the Bible, and have meaningful conversations with the individuals there.  We also enjoy feeding the needy and passing out literature to our neighbors.
As a new school year begins, our church is excited and prayerfully planning for our yearly student orientation, a time to invite students mainly from La Sierra and Loma Linda University.  Through this event, our church will give a special welcome to the visitors in hopes of reaching out to the students who need a home away from home.  Many students who visit come from out-of-state or sometimes out of the country.  Our church desires to provide an environment where students can come and rest from their studies, be blessed by the worship, and be fed with delicious Korean food.  Riverside Korean SDA Church is a multi-cultural family for students with faraway homes, and for us who are longing and preparing our hearts for our home in heaven.
