WCKCM Day 3
Young Adults aren’t college kids anymore--they’re dealing with new jobs, new co-workers, new places, new living conditions, new relationships, etc. They’re responsible for themselves, including their spiritual maturity.
Pastor Daniel Park, Portland Korean SDA Church Youth Pastor, leads out the Young Adults with the notion that it’s quality of time, not the quantity. Time spent where they can feel comfortable with each other enough to share their burdens and form relationships, not acquaintances.
Young Adults spend mornings in better finance management workshop. They are reviewing “It’s Your Money - isn’t it?” videos and worksheets. Afterwards, they attend the combined service with Dr. Byrd.
Afternoon was spent exploring Napa, including Bouchon Bakery and Oxbow Market. Preparation for tomorrow’s activities involved grocery shopping and a longer amount of time deciding on a place for dinner. Worship service was led by Pastor Daniel Yim. His message of gardening with Jesus in Eden brought a great sense of loss and what could be.
Evening ended with Daniel Park’s team vs. Daniel Yim’s team in bowling, with a win for Pastor Yim and a devastating loss for Pastor Park.
HS spent the afternoon in various outreach service, including painting a school and cleaning a park.
