Camp Mivoden Open Team: May 11 - 22, 2014
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
REVISED DATES: Volunteers will assist with several renovation projects at Camp MiVoden. Projects include landscaping the skate park built last year, rebuilding railroad tie walls, refurbishing lawns and sprinkler systems, indoor and outdoor painting and staining, building and installing new bunk beds, and replacing lighting in dorm rooms.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Nestled in the mountains of Idaho and on the shore of beautiful Hayden Lake, Camp MiVoden is the summer home for hundreds of campers each year. Along with being a summer camp, MiVoden is also a retreat center that welcomes church teams, youth groups, and Pathfinder clubs. The large numbers of annual visitors has caused much wear and tear on the facilities, and repairs are needed. There is no participation fee for this project. Meals, accident insurance, and local housing (including RV space) are free in exchange for your volunteer labor. Participants are responsible for their own travel to the site. [Leadership: Don Bais and Owen MacPhee]
SKILLS NEEDED
No specific skills are necessary to participate on this project. General construction skills, landscaping and painting experience, and experience with sprinkler systems are all helpful.
